World Recreational Fishing Conference 10:
Melbourne 2023
2023
Funding: $0,000
Attendees:
John Holdsworth, Sydney Curtis, Momoko Burgess, Trish Rae
Every three years a World Recreational Fishing Conference is held. It is an event attended by many of the world’s most prominent marine scientists. It is a productive, educational event for marine scientists and fisheries management specialists to present and share important research and information.
The headline conference theme for WRFC10 was: Keeping Pace in a Dynamic and Challenging World with Changing Fisheries. This is an ode to the fluid and rapidly changing landscape and acknowledges the challenges for researchers, managers and anglers involved in recreational fisheries.
The last conference was to be held in Rotterdam and we had planned to fund John Holdsworth from Blue Water Marine Research attendance. Unfortunately due to COVID this never eventuated. The next conference was a three day event from Monday 20th - Wednesday 22nd February 2023. It was held at the Melbourne Conference and Exhibitions centre. We sponsored a larger contingent this time of three marine scientists John Holdsworth, Sydney Curtis, Momoko Burgess and advocate Trish Rae.
